Why have your item stripped?
Save time, money, hassle and the mess of paint stripping.
By paint stripping an item you can completely transform that old door, desk or chest of draws, giving it a new and refreshed look. Even if you are planning on re-painting your item, by paint stripping the old paint off, it will give you a perfect base to re-paint onto.
What we can strip?
We mainly specialise in stripping doors, but also do some items of furniture.
There are a few modern spray on paints and varnishes that don’t come off, but we can always advise once we see the item(s).
The only metal we cannot paint strip is aluminium as this can react with the process we use.
Examples of things we can strip:
- Stair spindles
- Architrave & Skirting boards
- Garden benches
- Cast iron fireplaces & Other cast iron items
- Furniture items including chairs, tables, desks, chest of drawers, trunks, wash stands, stools, coffee tables, school desks, church pews, beds etc. And many more items.
Types of wood
Most types of wood can be paint stripped and once the paint is off and the item is dry, it can be sanded down and finished to show off the wood grain in all its glory.
There are some hardwoods that can darken down when stripped and we will always advise on this once we see the item. A good example of this is oak.
